Jallianwala Bagh - Amritsar

After having a meal in the Golden temple langaar and buying the Kirpan, we still had 1 hr before our checkout time 12:00 PM. The only thing left before going to the railway station was visiting the Jallianwala Bagh. I am sure every Indian (who knows about Indian freedom struggle) would be aware of the merciless massacre that happened here at Dyers' command.

By chance, the day we were visiting the Jallianwala Bagh is also a Sunday as the Apr 13 1919! But today there is no bloody Dyers here. Instead there is a beautiful garden built in remembrance of the hundreds (could have been 'thousands' also, since there was no formal report of the number) who lost their lives.

Agra and the Taj

A nother trip planned and executed in the last moment! Agra was never in my list for this year. But when Wilson and his brother Livi came to Delhi and after spending a couple of days in Harydwar & Rishikesh , Livi declared he to see the Taj. He kept on saying he has to see the Taj and take a photo standing in front of the epitome of Love! Neither myself nor Wilson were actually interested. Also we were tired after the 2 days in Haridwar. Moreover, I thought "Epitome of Love.." my foot! However these lil brothers can be very hard to convince and they have their own methods of convincing us! {I know because I'm also a younger brother to someone.. :-) } We could sleep only for just 5 hrs after coming back from Haridwar. The taxi came to pick us at 6:00 AM. Livi was excited and he sat in the front eagerly watching everything on the way while the other two of us slept peacefuly in the back seat! Chakrata - A wonderful destination - if the climate is good!

W hoever said "Traveling doesn't need any planning...just pack your bags and go" is either rich or is lying! It needs some homework and a good planning before the start. Else this can happen to anyone... A trip that could have been completed with 700-750 km ended up in 930 km. Almost 14 hrs instead of a 10 hrs journey. Traffic jams everywhere, hot sun and a non functional AC. A driver whose main intention was to increase both the km drive and the time. And finally a thrill ride on GTK Road at 120-130 km/h with a drunken driver on the wheel. Thats our trip to Chakrata - A good destination but bad timing and planning. April 2, 3 , 4 (Good friday + Easter weekend) 3 days leave! Since I am not the regular church going christian boy, I decided to use these 3 days for another trip.
