A lazy day at Chandrataal

Chandrataal

The next morning we woke up around 5:00 am, but didnt dare to come out of our tents. It was so chill outside and wet as if it had rained last nigh. Atlast Apoorv came out and called us. No one was ready for a morning walk in that climate. At last I decided to join him for a short walk.

Our Innova on top of the hill

We got lucky to get a few clear shots of the lake with its famous reflection

After half an hour we decided to return back. Kishore was the next one to come out and he was feeling much better than the previous day. Monty was trying to make tea for us and we enjoyed the warmth of the stove for some time. Slowly the others started coming out one by one.

After tea, biscuits and maggi, we decided to explore the lake. By that time a few remaining tourists had left and we were the only ones left there.

Setting up the camera

I can sit there and watch this beauty all day!

Atlast we found a place where we could relax for some time. The sun was too hot and the crystal clear water was so inviting soon we found ourselves in the lake.

By the time we came back Monty had prepared dal, rice and sabji.

After lunch we decided to take rest and went inside the tent. Soon it became too hot outside and the tents were our only shelter from the heat.Again the climate and the altitude started to make our day miserable. All of us were having head ache. We took the tablets and tried to get some sleep.

It was then we started realizing why this place is still unspoiled by the maddening crowd. The harsh terrain one has to cover and the extreme climates has helped keeping this place safe from the usual touristy folks who come to visit Manali and Rothang Pass. We just hope that it remains like this forever...
