The last day of our trip!
Back to Delhi.. Back to Bangalore.. Back to office...

I was tired. But Gokul and Apoorv weren't. They wanted to visit the Navagraha Temple also before leaving. Our flights were at 3 and 4 PM. It would be OK if we start from our hotel at around 12:30 PM. After they left I slept till 9:00 AM. Got up and got ready. Rahul and Prem were also ready by that time. We waited for the other 2 and they came back from the Navagraha Temple.

We had our last lunch from Guwahati and took a taxi to the airport. We sat there recollecting our last 9 days. Unlike our arrival day, there were many people in the airport that day. Tourists as well as people who belonged to North East. When it was time for us to leave, we said good byes to Apoorv and went through the security check.

Our flight was on time. And just when we were starting to think our journey is over... the pilot announced "... now we are flying over the Himalayas and if you see through the right side windows you can see..... Mt Everest!"

We watched in awe at the Mt Everest towering over the clouds for as long as we could. At last when we settled back on our seats, we were smiling at each other with the same thought in our crooked minds...

Journey to Tawang

Day 3 March 17 2008 Bomdila Apoorv and myself woke up before everyone else and we were ready. Soon we heard aunty singing her song of the day, "Kaho na pyaar hey... kaho na pyaar hey..." Prem went to her and requested her to give him hot water. Soon he was also ready. Gokul and Rahul were enjoying their sleep as much a possible and we had to go and wake them up. Anyways, by the time it was 6:00 AM, we settled the bills and were ready to leave. But there was a problem... Our driver bhayya, Bittu the great hasn't come yet! We waited for half and hr. We waited for 1 hr... Still no sign of Bittu! After one hr, Apoorv suggested we call Meeraj and tell him the situation. We looked around for an STD booth and found one and dialled him. We heard the ring on the other side and suddenly we heard the message. "The number you are trying to reach is busy.. please try later.." Chakrata - A wonderful destination - if the climate is good!

W hoever said "Traveling doesn't need any planning...just pack your bags and go" is either rich or is lying! It needs some homework and a good planning before the start. Else this can happen to anyone... A trip that could have been completed with 700-750 km ended up in 930 km. Almost 14 hrs instead of a 10 hrs journey. Traffic jams everywhere, hot sun and a non functional AC. A driver whose main intention was to increase both the km drive and the time. And finally a thrill ride on GTK Road at 120-130 km/h with a drunken driver on the wheel. Thats our trip to Chakrata - A good destination but bad timing and planning. April 2, 3 , 4 (Good friday + Easter weekend) 3 days leave! Since I am not the regular church going christian boy, I decided to use these 3 days for another trip.
